Building an Energy Efficient Home in Utah’s Climate

Saving money on utilities with modern construction. Insulation, HVAC, and windows explained.

Building an Energy Efficient Home in Utah's Climate

Energy codes are getting stricter, but building above code saves you money every month and increases resale value. In Utah’s climate of hot summers and cold winters, efficiency is key.

Insulation: We recommend “flash and batt” (a layer of spray foam sealed with fiberglass batts) or full blown-in insulation for maximum R-value and air sealing.

HVAC: Variable speed furnaces and 18+ SEER AC units run quieter and use less power. Heat pumps are also becoming viable in Utah’s climate for efficient heating and cooling.

Windows: U-factor matters. We install high-performance windows that reduce heat transfer, keeping your home cool in July and warm in January without breaking the bank.
